Well Hello Again!

Welcome longtime readers to the new layout! Well, and hopefully the last layout...ever. We're getting more settled now, finding a routine, learning how to give each other space in our little one bedroom apartment. So what's with the title you ask? Well this probably won't be a shock, but I looooovvveeee the Mary Tyler Moore Show, which took place in Minneapolis Minnesota. And for those of you not cool enough to have the theme song memorized, here it is for you:

Who can turn the world on with her smile?
Who can take a nothing day, and suddenly make it all seem worthwhile?
Well it's you girl, and you should know it
With each glance and every little movement you show it

Love is all around, no need to waste it
You can have a town, why don't you take it
You're gonna make it after all
You're gonna make it after all

How will you make it on your own?
This world is awfully big, girl this time you're all alone
But it's time you started living
It's time you let someone else do some giving

Love is all around, no need to waste it
You can have a town, why don't you take it
You're gonna make it after all
You're gonna make it after all

Naturally I changed the you're to we're. I have yet to get my picture taken by the MTM statue outside the downtown Macy's but rest assured it is on my list. Along with exploring the city more. I really need to get on that. So any readers in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area that want to be my friend, hit me up! I enjoy good food, drinks and anything fun. I have just turned this post into eHarmony. Wow....

I think now that I've got the layout done I can get back to posting on the regular. I've missed it so, and of course I've missed all of your blogs as well! I feel like I've missed out on so much, but I promise I will catch up and it will just be like old times. Until then just remember love is all around :)

Cheers!

p.s. Greetings from Bobo & Elvis! They are loving their new digs ;)

Let's Do This

Alright guys so I'm here. Writing this on our couch in Minneapolis with Drew iPad-ing it up next to me. Tomorrow marks my one week anniversary as a Minnesota resident.  Annnnd today marks my one week anniversary of unemployment. I thought I would enjoy a break from work since back in Des Moines I worked 6 days a week and usually no less than 55 hours a week. However after the first few days I found myself longing for a 5am wake up call to get ready for work. Instead I occupy my time with Gossip Girl. How in the hell have I never watched that show before? I had an interview Friday that went pretty well, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that. I probably should be more adventurous and maybe venture downtown and just explore the city more. However I have a hard time tearing myself away from the Chuck/Blair saga. I just want them to be together! Is that so much to ask?

Anyway, the drive up wasn't too bad. My car was packed, in fact so packed that I probably would have gotten a ticket since my side views were basically obstructed. Luckily I did not get pulled over and just enjoyed the sound of two crying cats for 3 hours and 45 minutes. Turns out my Elvis kitty does not like the musical styling of  Michael Jackson. I know I don't understand it either. Despite our differing tastes in music we all made it safely and the cats have adjusted well to their new home. As for me, we're still figuring things out but all will be well. Just trying to figure out each others routines and how we can work together and Drew is learning how to live with pets. I hope to get my blog reworked this week however certain drama may pose a problem with that (re: Chuck/Blair). Just kidding I really need to do something productive, creative even. Just to keep my mind in shape. I can't sit on a couch forever.....or can I???? ;)

Cheers!

Gettin' Down On Friday

Man am I glad it's Friday. A co-worker summed this week up quite nicely when talking about her MIA bagels:
"You know it's a week where you don't have your life together when you lose a bag of bagels." I think everyone can relate to that.

I'm super pumped to head to Ames this weekend to have dinner with my old co-worker from my high school days who also happened to be my college roommate. Should be most excellent times.

Some of you happened to notice that fame whore in the back of my vlog yesterday. He demanded I introduce him to the world properly. So, without further ado meet Bobo the cat.

How you doin?

This is a 100% accurate description of how Bobo sees himself.

I also have another sweet little kitten who Bobo tries to keep under the bed so he gets all the attention. Then he gets shot in the face with a water bottle. Meet Elvis.

She's a little shy.

But, she guards my mail and thats why I love her. Oh yeah, Elvis is a girl. I didn't know that when I named her. SHE'S A CAT. Like she even cares.

And to prove my point about Bobo being a fame whore this is the look he had after I took pictures of Elvis.

Yeah, stink eye to the max. Told you, fame whore.

Well I hope this has brightened up your Friday. Bobo is off getting his Jagerbombs on with some fuckin' skanks sporting his new fucking haircut.  I'm just joshing ya. More than likely he will eat some food and sleep all day. Don't worry my cats are not alcoholics, no need to call animal control.

Weekend Cheers!

8 Weeks

8 more loonnngggg weeks until vacation. Suck. I'm so ready for some new scenery. It's been 2 months since I've gone anywhere and it feels more like 2 years. My life currently revolves around work and working out which is not cool. Not cool at all. I wish I had something more super awesome fun for you to read, but I'm afraid my life is a black hole of lameness. In 8 weeks however I will be:

1.) Eating Late Night Snack at Ben and Jerry's Scoop Shop
2.) Hiking up a mountain.
3.) Enjoying a tour of the MillerCoors brewery
4.) Not working
5.) and seeing my long lost 5th grade love. I guess that can make the list. He's pretty cool :)

So as thats about all that I can muster up at this time. Please enjoy this picture of my cats as a cop out.

Their faces accurately describe my current attitude.

Cheers,

Marisa

Pecha Kucha Night!!! Oh and Cat Litter

Okay quickly I just have to be the crazy cat lady and give a shout out to this new cat litter I've been using:

(image via google)

It has seriously changed my life. It's amazing. If you have more than one cat go buy it. That is all. You're welcome Tidy Cats.

So the first part of the title probably has you going say what? Okay first things first it's pronounced "pechacha" and it's Japanese for chit chat. Learn more about it here I'd probably do a horrible job of explaining it anyway. This was my second PKN (pecha kucha night) as my first involved my office bestie presenting on his Appalachian Trail hike from last summer. It really is a great time, you learn lots of interesting things as different people have many different interests and passions and I highly recommend you see if your city hosts a PKN and go! One guy did a presentation on his hike of the Continental Divide which got me even more excited to head to Colorado in May. I also snagged this postcard from Laura who did a presentation about saving the post office one piece of snail mail at a time:

Well now Z gets a little preview of the lovely postcard that is coming his way. I actually love snail mail. I just like writing things in actual ink. It's fun. So send someone you know a postcard. Heck send me one! Email me and I'll give you my address. I <3 mail. All I ever get is junk. Except for today. Today was a day of great joy as my precious finally arrived. I give you.......:

No More Waity, Katie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And no more waity me! I cannot wait to get a manicure this weekend with my soon-to-be royal inspired nail polish. Yes I'm a Kate Middleton obsess-er. I hope we can still be friends. I just love her style, so very British and just plain old lovely. Sigh.....

Anyway what a random day this has been. Anyone have any big weekend plans? I've got zero but I'm kind of looking forward to a quiet weekend. I always say that then things happen and then you get to read about them here. So I guess stay tuned and I hope I don't disappoint come Sunday afternoon...
Pecha Kucha Cheers!

Send Your Love

Friends, there is a cat out there that needs some love. I love MODG. Her blog cracks me up to no end, so I was saddened to read today that her cat Charlie is going through a tough time. By that I mean the poor thing is in a cone. :( So think positive thoughts for Charlie so that he may escape that horrible cone dignity in tact. MODG, Bobo and Elvis send loves to Charlie.
